Afrykański Banku Rozwoju jest międzynarodową organizacją finansową, opartą na modelu funkcjonowania Banku Światowego. Podobnie jak on, tworzy grupę finansową, która oprócz samego Banku obejmuje Afrykański Fundusz Rozwoju i Nigeryjski Fundusz Powierniczy. Instytucje Grupy od kilkudziesięciu już lat promują działania mające na celu ograniczanie ubóstwa i polepszanie warunków życia na kontynencie afrykańskim poprzez wspieranie projektów ukierunkowanych na rozwój gospodarczy i społeczny regionu. W artykule przedstawiono genezę, członkostwo, cele i organizację Afrykańskiego Banku Rozwoju, fundusze własne Banku i pozyskiwanie przezeń środków finansowych ze źródeł zewnętrznych, Afrykański Fundusz Rozwoju i Nigeryjski Fundusz Powierniczy jako dwie pozostałe instytucje Grupy Afrykańskiego Banku Rozwoju, a także przybliżono działalność kredytową Grupy Afrykańskiego Banku Rozwoju.

The African Development Bank is an international financial organization based on the model of the World Bank. Like the World Bank, it creates a financial Group, which in addition to the Bank contains the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. For a few decades, the institutions of the African Development Bank Group have promoted activities aimed at reducing poverty and improving living conditions in Africa by supporting projects aimed at economic and social development of the region. The article presents the origins, membership, objectives and organization of the African Development Bank, its funds, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund as the other two institutions of the African Development Bank Group, as well as lending activities of the African Development Bank Group institutions.
