Po wydaniu biografii Aleksandra Wernika udało się dotrzeć do dwóch informacji, dotyczących jego przydziału w Biurze Werbunkowym Wojska Polskiego w Płocku w 1916–17 r. oraz kwestii kulis jego uwolnienia z niemieckiego obozu w Działdowie (Soldau).

After the biography of Aleksander Wernik was published, he managed to get two biographical information about his assignment in the Recruitment Office of the Polish Army in Płock in 1916–17, and the issue of behind the scenes of his release from the German camp in Działdowo (Soldau).

Aleksander Wernik w latach 1935–39 był wiceprezydentem miasta Płocka. W lutym 1940 r. został aresztowany przez Gestapo i wysłany do obozu przejściowego w Działdowie (Soldau), jednak po kilku miesiącach został zwolniony z powodów zdrowotnych. Być może było to możliwe dzięki dużej łapówce, zapłaconej jakiemuś gestapowcowi. Po zwolnieniu A. Wernik jakiś czas mieszkał w Warszawie, a potem ukrywał się w majątku kuzynów koło Mszczonowa.

Aleksander Wernik in the years 1935-39 was the vice-president of the city of Płock. In February 1940 he was arrested by the Gestapo and sent to the transit camp in Działdowo (Soldau), but after a few months he was released on health grounds. Probably it was possible thanks to a large bribe paid to some Gestapo officer. After the release of A. Wernik, he lived in Warsaw for some time, and then he was hiding in the estate of his cousins near Mszczonów.
