Artykuł przedstawia historię życia Alfonsa Gdyry (1909-1977), absolwenta Wydziału Lekarskiego Uniwersytetu Poznańskiego. Był ginekologiem i położnikiem, który praktykował głównie w Ostrowie Wielkopolskim. Podczas drugiej wojny światowej został aresztowany i uwięziony za przynależność do ruchu oporu. Jego wspomnienia zostały opublikowane w niniejszym numerze „Acta Medicorum Polonorum”.

The article is a life history of Alfons Gdyra (1909-1977), a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of the University in Poznań. He was a gynecologist and obstetrician who practiced medicine mainly in the town of Ostrów Wielkopolski. During the Second World War as a member of the Polish resistance movement he was arrested and imprisoned. His memoir is published in this volume.
