In the spring of 2017, the Institute of National Remembrance initiated a project named The Archives Full of Remembrance aimed at collecting and preserving legacies, family archives and private collections concerning the recent history of Poland. One of the most valuable family archives adopted by the Institute of National Remembrance are the materials regarding Ewa and Jerzy Stolarski – soldiers of the AK (Home Army) and PSZ (Polish Armed Forces) in the West and prisoners during the Stalinist period. The “Family Archive of Ewa and Jerzy Stolarski” consists of documentation created and collected by both spouses as well as materials inherited from members of their families. The chronological limits of the archives acquired fall approximately between 1860–2006. The archive includes about 1,5 running metres of materials divided into 302 units. The arrangement of the files is based on a breakdown into fourteen parts corresponding to individual family members, including materials from strangers and unrecognized persons, as well as numerous attachments. The materials belonging to the collection are divided in terms of physical form thereof into two series: documentation and photographs.

Wiosną 2017 r. Instytut Pamięci Narodowej zainicjował projekt Archiwum Pełne Pamięci, mający na celu gromadzenie i zabezpieczanie spuścizn, archiwów rodzinnych i kolekcji prywatnych dotyczących najnowszych dziejów Polski. Jednym z cenniejszych archiwów rodzinnych przejętych przez IPN są materiały małżeństwa Ewy i Jerzego Stolarskich – żołnierzy AK i PSZ na Zachodzie oraz więźniów okresu stalinowskiego. Na „Archiwum rodzinne Ewy i Jerzego Stolarskich” składa się dokumentacja wytworzona i zgromadzona przez oboje małżonków oraz materiały odziedziczone po członkach ich rodzin. Granice chronologiczne przekazanych archiwaliów wyznaczają daty ok. 1860–2006. Archiwum liczy ok. 1,5 mb materiałów podzielonych na 302 jednostki. Schemat układu akt opiera się na podziale na czternaście części odpowiadających poszczególnym członkom rodziny, z uwzględnieniem materiałów osób obcych i nierozpoznanych, a także załączników. Materiały wchodzące do zespołu dzielą się pod względem formy zewnętrznej na dwie serie: dokumentację aktową oraz fotograficzną.

In May 2017, Dr Jarosław Szarek, [then] president of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), inaugurated the Archive Full of Remembrance (Archiwum Pełne Pamięci, APP) project. Its main objective was – and has been until now – the collection of historical materials (documents, photographs, memorabilia, etc.) donated by private individuals and institutions, both from Poland and abroad, in the Institute’s archive. After they are properly secured and processed, they are made available, primarily for research and educational purposes. The article discusses the results of the first five years (2017–2021) of the project’s operation at the Institute of National Remembrance branch office in Krakow. The most interesting historical materials acquired for the IPN archival repository in Krakow under the auspices of the APP project are presented. Their extraordinary richness and diversity is shown and the collected documents, photographs, audio-visual materials, memoirs and diaries, correspondence, memorabilia and exhibits, as well as so-called “second-circulation publications” (wydawnictwa drugiego obiegu) [illegal underground publishing – the Polish version of samizdat] from the 1980s are presented. The author also discusses the educational value of the Archive Full of Remembrance project and assesses the effects of its implementation, as well as prospects for its further development.

W maju 2017 r. prezes Instytutu Pamięci Narodowej dr Jarosław Szarek zainaugurował projekt Archiwum Pełne Pamięci. Jego głównym celem było – i jest do chwili obecnej – gromadzenie w archiwum Instytutu materiałów historycznych (dokumentów, fotografii, pamiątek i in.) przekazanych przez osoby prywatne i instytucje, zarówno z Polski, jak i z zagranicy. Po ich odpowiednim zabezpieczeniu i opracowaniu są one udostępniane, przede wszystkim w celach badawczych i edukacyjnych. Artykuł omawia rezultaty pierwszych pięciu lat (2017–2021) funkcjonowania przedsięwzięcia w Oddziale Instytutu Pamięci Narodowej w Krakowie. Przedstawia najciekawsze materiały historyczne pozyskane do zasobu archiwalnego krakowskiego IPN w ramach realizacji APP. Ukazuje ich niezwykłe bogactwo i różnorodność. Charakteryzuje zgromadzone w ten sposób dokumenty, fotografie, materiały audiowizualne, wspomnienia i pamiętniki, korespondencję, pamiątki i eksponaty, a także wydawnictwa drugiego obiegu z lat osiemdziesiątych XX w. Uwaga autora skupiła się również na omówieniu walorów edukacyjnych projektu Archiwum Pełne Pamięci oraz ocenie efektów jego realizacji, a także na perspektywach jego dalszego rozwoju.

Private provenance teams and collections have been part of the area of interest of the Institute of National Remembrance since its inception. Such material currently constitutes a relatively small, but significant part of the resources used in many areas of the Institute’s activity. They have been collected pursuant to the provisions of the Act of 18 December 1998 regarding the Institute of National Remembrance – Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation, strictly defining the chronological and material scope of the documentation obtained. As a result, acquisitions with specific features go to the resources of the IPN Archive, which in turn involves the occurrence of methodological problems during the development of the materials. The article discusses the basic issues related to the collection and processing of private archives in the IPN Archive, and a general description of this type of material that was received between 2000–2018.

Zespoły i zbiory proweniencji prywatnej znajdują się w obszarze zainteresowań IPN od początku jego istnienia. Stanowią obecnie stosunkowo niewielką, lecz ważną część zasobu, wykorzystywaną w wielu obszarach działalności Instytutu. Gromadzone są w oparciu o przepisy Ustawy z dnia 18 grudnia 1998 r. o Instytucie Pamięci Narodowej – Komisji Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu, które ściśle określają zakres chronologiczny i rzeczowy pozyskiwanej dokumentacji. Powoduje to, że do zasobu Archiwum IPN trafiają nabytki o specyficznych cechach, co z kolei wiąże się z występowaniem problemów metodycznych podczas opracowywania tych materiałów. W artykule omówiono podstawowe zagadnienia związane z gromadzeniem i opracowywaniem archiwaliów prywatnych w Archiwum IPN oraz dokonano ogólnej charakterystyki tego rodzaju materiałów, które trafiły do niego w latach 2000–2018.
