This study examines banded pendants discovered in the Germanic cemeteries in Očkov and Sekule, focusing on their material composition. This type of pendants come from the Przeworsk culture and is found only rarely in western Slovakia during the Roman period, mainly in the graves of women and children. Banded pendants, typically crafted from copper-based alloys, are most commonly made of bronze. The core filling of the pendants contain decorations made from various other materials, such as organics and shells, pebbles or glass beads. The paper includes an analysis of metal parts of banded pendants using X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF). The results of the XRF analysis confirmed the presence of copper alloys with varying proportions of tin and zinc, indicating that the pendants were manufactured from different types of bronze and brass. These findings provide new insights into the material diversity and resource utilization in the production of banded pendants within the Germanic cultural context.
