This article is concerned with late Drahomír Šajtar’s (1922–2009) Tři kapitoly bezručovské (Three Bezručian Chapters, 2009), a publication comprising his articles from 1954–60, which had hitherto appeared only in periodicals. The authors recapitulate the results of Šajtar’s lifelong work on the poet and short-story writer Petr Bezruč (born Vladimír Vašek, 1867–1958), placing it in the context of research by other important Bezruč scholars. It also explains any differences between the periodical versions and what is published here.
