Within the integration process of the European Union, the Amsterdam agreement bolstered the significance of the Schengen agreement. Due to the similar traditions and geopolitical causes, Germany has provided immensely to help Hungary by sharing its experience of Schengen. In recent years, sharing its professional experience financially and technologically and giving tranings, Germany was a firm partner for Hungary's public security and borderguard agencies. The author of this study demonstrates the theoretical basis and experience of the border police cooperation in light of the Schengen experience.
