The aim of this presentation was to show the value of the holiness of Otto of Bamberg for the modern generation of people. The implementation of such a goal could not fail to begin with the disclosure of the supernatural conditions of holiness, i.e. the Divine vocation of man to it and the natural ones, i.e. the awareness of this Divine invitation on the part of Otto. The next step in achieving the goal was to present the responsorial dimension of the call to holiness, i.e. to show the Otto’s response to this call. The Otto’s response included: his sacrificial service to Christ in his Church, his sensitivity to his fellow men, and his faithfulness to his personal dignity and the mission entrusted to him. These three elements were the forms of Otto’s call to holiness. The unveiling of these three elements of Otto’s attitude to holiness made it possible to highlight the planes of his influence on the contemporary actions of people in society. In this regard, the influence of his attitude of holiness can be seen in pointing to the basis of all order in society and unity in the Church, which is fidelity to Christ’s Gospel, in showing support to people in need as a dimension of witness to Christ and in openness in a spirit of dialogue to people who profess a different faith and are guided by a different worldview as the basis for establishing peace between them. It is in these planes that the spirituality of Otto of Bamberg is topical.

Ziel dieses Beitrags war es, den Wert von Ottos von Bambergs Haltung der Heiligkeit für den heutigen Menschen aufzuzeigen. Die Verwirklichung eines solchen erklärten Ziels konnte nicht umhin, zunächst die übernatürlichen Bedingungen der Heiligkeit, d.h. die göttliche Berufung des Menschen zu ihr, und die natürlichen, d.h. das Bewusstsein dieser göttlichen Einladung seitens Ottos, aufzuzeigen. Der nächste Schritt zur Erreichung dieses Ziels bestand darin, die responsoriale Dimension des Rufs zur Heiligkeit darzustellen, d. h. die Antwort Ottos auf diesen Ruf zu zeigen. Diese Antwort Ottos umfasste den aufopferungsvollen Dienst an Christus in seiner Kirche, die Sensibilität für seine Mitmenschen und die Treue zu seiner persönlichen Würde und der ihm anvertrauten Sendung. Diese drei Elemente stellen Formen der Erfüllung von Ottos Berufung zur Heiligkeit dar. Ihre Enthüllung ermöglichte es, die Ebenen seines Einflusses auf das heutige Handeln der Menschen in der Gesellschaft aufzuzeigen. In dieser Hinsicht zeigt sich der Einfluss seiner Haltung der Heiligkeit darin, dass er die Grundlage aller Ordnung in der Gesellschaft und der Einheit in der Kirche als Treue zum Evangelium Christi bezeichnet, dass er sich für Menschen in Not einsetzt als eine Dimension des Christuszeugnisses und dass er sich im Geiste des Dialogs für Menschen öffnet, die einen anderen Glauben und eine andere Weltanschauung haben, als Grundlage für den Frieden unter ihnen. In diesen Ebenen liegt die Aktualität der Spiritualität des Otto von Bamberg.

Celem niniejszego przedłożenia było ukazanie wartości postawy świętości Ottona z Bambergu dla współczesnych ludzi. Realizacja tak określonego celu nie mogła nie rozpocząć się od odsłonięcia uwarunkowań nadprzyrodzonych świętości, tj. Bożego powołania człowieka do niej, i tych naturalnych, tj. świadomości tego Boskiego zaproszenia ze strony Ottona. Następnym krokiem w realizacji celu było zaprezentowanie responsoryjnego wymiaru powołania do świętości, czyli ukazaniu Ottonowej odpowiedzi na to powołanie. W zakres tej odpowiedzi ze strony Ottona weszły: ofiarna posługa Chrystusowi w Jego Kościele, wrażliwość na bliźnich i wierność osobistej godności i powierzonej misji. Te trzy elementy stanowiły formy pełnienia przez Ottona powołania do świętości. Ich odsłonięcie pozwoliło na uwypuklenie płaszczyzn jego oddziaływania na współczesne działania ludzi w społeczeństwie. W tym względzie wpływu jego postawy świętości można upatrywać we wskazaniu na podstawę wszelkiego ładu w społeczeństwie i jedności w Kościele, jakim jest wierność Chrystusowej Ewangelii, w okazywaniu wsparcia ludziom w potrzebie jako wymiaru świadectwa o Chrystusie i w otwartości w duchu dialogu na ludzi, którzy wyznają inną wiarę i kierują się odmiennym światopoglądem jako podstawy wprowadzania między nimi pokoju. Właśnie w tych płaszczyznach zawiera się aktualność duchowości Ottona z Bambergu.

Im Artikel weise ich nach, dass die Bildungsphilosophie von José Ortega y Gasset mit dem Imperativ der Authentizität verbunden ist, der sich auf Bildungseinrichtungen, Lehrer und vor allem Schüler erstreckt. Ausser der Darstellung von Hauptvoraussetzungen der Bildungsphilosophie von Ortega unterziehe ich sie einer kritischen Analyse, die ihre starken und schwachen Seiten zu verstehen und ihre praktische Anwendung in der Bildung aufzuzeigen hilft. Ich übe insbesondere Kritik an der Art, wie die frühe Philosophie von Ortega das Erreichen von Authentizität durch die Kategorien der "Umstände" und "Entscheidungen" vorschlägt, was mir eine optimale Lage verschafft, das zu analysieren, was Ortega für die konstitutive Tragödie der Pädagogik und für eine Botschaft für die Universität hielt. Was die spätere Philosophie von Ortega betrifft, so untersuche ich seinen Vorschlag, die Authentizität durch das Hören auf die Stimme der eigenen Berufung (die aus jeder individuellen Überzeugung resultiert) zu erreichen, um später zu erklären, wie man den Schülern beim Bewusstwerden ihrer eigenen Überzeugungen helfen kann. Zum Schluss erläutere ich, warum ich mit Ortega übereinstimme, dass das Glück der Schüler im grossen Teil damit verbunden ist, wie weit sie mit sich selbst oder mit ihren Überzeugungen übereinstimmen.

The author notes that José Ortega y Gasset’s philosophy of education revolves around the imperative of authenticity which he extends to cover educational institutions, teachers and first of all students. He censures the main points of Ortega’s philosophy of education highlighting its strengths and weaknesses as well as its potential application in school education. He is specifically critical of how Ortega’s earlier philosophy sought to achieve authenticity through notions of ‘circumstance’ and ‘decision’. He subsequently analyzes what Ortega regarded as a constitutive tragedy of pedagogy and the mission he assigned to university. As regards Ortega’s philosophy in his later years, the author examines his proposal to reach authenticity by listening to one’s own voice of call stemming from each individual belief to suggest how to help students in becoming aware of their own beliefs. The author agrees with Ortega that students’ happiness largely depends on how much they are in agreement with themselves or their own beliefs.

W artykule wskazuję, że filozofia edukacji José Ortegi y Gasseta powiązana jest z imperatywem autentyczności, który rozciąga on na instytucje edukacyjne, nauczycieli, a przede wszystkim na samych uczniów. Poza przedstawieniem głównych złożeń filozofii edukacji Ortegi, poddają ją krytycznej analizie, która pozwala zrozumieć jej mocne i słabe strony, a także wskazać jej możliwe praktyczne wykorzystanie w nauczaniu. W szczególności, krytykuję sposób, w jaki wczesna filozofia Ortegi proponuje osiąganie autentyczności przez kategorie „okoliczności” i „decyzji”, co wytwarza mi optymalną pozycję, aby przeanalizować to, co Ortega uważał za konstytutywną tragedię pedagogiki oraz misję, jaką wyznaczył on uniwersytetowi. Gdy idzie o późniejszą filozofię Ortegi, badam jego propozycję, by osiągać autentyczność poprzez słuchanie głosu swego powołania – wywodliwego z każdego indywidulanego przekonania – by później wyjaśnić, w jaki sposób pomagać uczniom w uświadomieniu sobie ich własnych przekonań. Na koniec wyjaśniam, dlaczego zgadzam się z Ortegą, że szczęście uczniów związane jest w dużej mierze z tym, w jakim stopniu są oni zgodni z samymi sobą lub z własnymi przekonaniami.
