The article presents the principles of coordination of social security schemes in general and of family benefits in particular. It shows the level in which the principles of coordination influence Polish family benefits scheme. It describes the tasks of the authorities and competent institutions responsible for the implementation of Community regulations in this area. Statistics included in the article refer to the benefits exported from other Member States. The last part of the article enlists the problems that need to be resolved in order to ensure efficient coordination of social security schemes.
