Earth’s changing climate makes the once-inaccessible Arctic open to human expansion. As the arctic ice sheet decreases, its potential resources are becoming more and more interesting for the countries of the region. In recent decades, they have been increasingly competing with each other to ensure that they are as much as possible in the expected beneﬁ ts. At the same time, they work together to counter the aspirations of others countries. The article focuses on Canada’s policy as one of the Arctic states. It presents the climatic changes taking place in the region and their impact on business activities and relations between arctic countries. Against this background, it indicates the main changes that have taken place in Canada’s policy towards the far north.

Zmieniający się klimat Ziemi sprawia, że uważana niegdyś za niedostępną Arktyka otwiera się na ekspansję człowieka. Wraz z ustępowaniem pokrywy lodowej na Ocenie Arktycznym, jego potencjalne zasoby stają się coraz bardziej interesujące dla państw regionu. W ostatnich dekadach coraz silniej rywalizują one ze sobą, aby zagwarantować sobie jak największy udział w spodziewanych korzyściach. Jednocześnie współpracują, aby przeciwstawić się dążeniom innych podmiotów. Artykuł koncentruje się na polityce Kanady jako jednego z państw arktycznych. Przedstawia procesy klimatyczne zachodzące w regionie i ich wpływ na działalność przedsiębiorstw oraz relacje między państwami arktycznymi. Na tym tle artykuł wskazuje główne zmiany, jakie zaszły w kanadyjskiej polityce wobec dalekiej północy.
