The paper discusses the importance of time, in particular its flow and capture, in the work of selected contemporary artists. The first part is devoted to America’s Ed Kienholz and his Barney’s Beanery (1965), the second one to a Swiss-American film-maker Christian Marclay and his experimental, 24-hour-long film, The Clock (2010).
