The article concerns the activities of NSZZ “Solidarność” in the Cooperative Invalides “Elremet” in the 80s of the twentieth century. “Elremet” was then one of the largest factories in the Biala Podlaska region. Despite the fact that most of the crew were people with disabilities they are very actively engaged in opposition activities against the communist system in summer 1980. This activity did not cease even after the introduction of martial law in Poland. Workers' of “Elremet” consisted the only one Works Committee of “Solidarność” in the town. They were involved in distributing publications of opposition, collecting money for the families of the internees, distribution of gifts from abroad or organizing religious and patriotic ceremonies. The anti-communist activity brought on workers of “Elremet” repression by the side of goverment and secret police and surveillance of this people it continued until 1989. This harassment was not broke workers of “Elremet”, who continued his political activities and in the 90s, some of them took an active part in the socio-political life of the country.
