Koszty mają bezpośredni wpływ na wyniki osiągane przez jednostki gospodarcze i przesądzają o efektywności prowadzonej działalności, dlatego powinny być poddawane systematycznym analizom o różnych zakresach przedmiotowych i podmiotowych. Tradycyjnie analiza kosztów jest przeprowadzana odrębnie dla poziomu i struktury kosztów, co stanowi jej istotny niedostatek. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie sposobu przeprowadzenia analizy zależności między poziomem a strukturą kosztów. Proponowane w nim rozwiązania wykorzystują proste metody analizy ekonomicznej, jakimi są mierniki i wskaźniki finansowe oraz wskaźniki struktury. Przedstawione w artykule metody umożliwiają określenie jednoczesnego wpływu poziomu i struktury kosztów na efektywność działalności przedsiębiorstwa. Ich praktyczna przydatność zostanie ukazana na przykładzie badania empirycznego dotyczącego wybranych jednostek gospodarczych.

Costs have a direct impact on the results achieved by economic entities and determine the effectiveness of their operations. Therefore, costs should be subjected to systematic analyses with various subject and object scopes. Traditionally, the cost analysis is carried out separately for the level and structure of costs, which is a significant deficiency. This article presents how to analyse the relationship between the level and structure of costs. The proposed solutions employ simple methods of economic analysis, such as financial measures and ratios, as well as structure indicators. Methods presented in the article enable determining the simultaneous impact of the level and structure of costs on the effectiveness of the enterprise’s operations. Their practical usefulness will be shown on the example of an empirical study of selected economic entities.
