After the World War II the Czechoslovak officials proceeded with arrangements and negotiation of quantification and compensation for ceded Ruthenia with due diligence. This effort was being pushed forward by Property Corporation in Slovakia and former Ruthenia and was supported by Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare. The Property Corporation also promoted its case in the press and actively influenced various politicians and officials. The Czechoslovak authorities’ position did not change even after the political shift in 1948. Although the Property Corporation in Slovakia and former Ruthenia was “freely” dissolved the officials didn’t abandon their agenda. Beside the compensation realised by the regime after the February 1948 there were three other compensation waves.
