Ekonomia heterodoksyjna interpretuje zjawiska endogeniczności podaży pieniądza oraz finansjalizacji, jak również związek przyczynowo-skutkowy zachodzący między nimi inaczej niż ekonomia głównego nurtu. Endogeniczność postrzega się tu jako trwałą i niezmienną cechę pieniądza, stanowiącą równocześnie determinantę finansjalizacji. Ta z kolei jest uznawana za przejściową i odwracalną aberrację, rodzącą jednak poważne zagrożenia dla stabilności gospodarek. Kwestie te zostały przeanalizowane przez pryzmat makroekonomicznej teorii obiegu pieniężnego, która stawia w centrum swojego zainteresowania zagadnienia pieniężne, głosząc przy tym tzw. endogeniczność naturalną.

Heterodox economics interprets the phenomena of endogenous money supply and financialization, and the cause-and-effect relationship between them, in a way different than mainstream economics. Endogeneity is perceived here as a durable and constant feature of money, which constitutes at the same time a determinant of financialization. The latter, in turn, is considered as a temporary and reversible aberration, representing a serious thread for economic stability. These questions have been analysed from the angle of the macroeconomic theory of money supply, which focuses on monetary problems, declaring a so-called natural endogeneity.
