The purpose of this paper is to systematize the knowledge of theory, together with functional implications associated with the process of dematerialization of securities in Poland from the perspective of comparative legal systems based on continental law. Polish model of dematerialization of securities is based on the French and Swiss one. With regard to the cause of dematerialization and the dematerialization of trading the same securities are to be sought in their efforts to reduce costs associated with the necessity of physical movement of large quantities of securities. Identified issues of concern are examined from the standpoint of seeking a link between a security in immaterialized form and material one, using methods of historical and comparative legal research.

The digital remediation of collections is also the dematerialization of these collections. Concurrently with large national and international projects of digitization of cultural heritage, family and personal possessions like photograph albums, videos and letters are also remediated. The meaning of these objects originated in their own context and is linked to their emotional surplus value. These collections participate in the creation of the identity of the proprietor. When cultural content loses its material medium, in some circumstances it loses also its aura – it is no longer an artefact.

In the article it was developed scientific and methodical approach to the assessment of the level of environmentally focused dematerialization of socio-economic systems. The concept of resource usage efficiency according to the principles of dematerialization largely shifts to the greening focus. Instead of spending money on the technical attempts of purification of waste and emissions, this approach is focused on saving money by rationalizing the use of natural resources that can be a way out of the economic crisis, with which Ukraine has faced. The essence of the proposed approach is to calculate material inputs per unit function, provided to the consumer by production, and to specify the material inputs according to the stages of product life cycle. This approach allows estimating the potential economic loss and impact on the environment of the product, which is used to provide specific services.
