The aim of the study is to analyse the development of disputes between the priest Karol Anton Medvecký and Bishop Wolfgang Radnai in the second decade of the 20th century. The conflict, which took place in the territory of the Banská Bystrica diocese, depicts rivalry relationships between politically active Slovak priests and the Hungarian episcopate – integrally connected with the official Hungarian political discourse. It began when the bishop relocated the priest into the complicated parish of Bacurov, where Medvecký had to face geographical, economic, mental and cultural isolation. After many years of ignoring his requests for relocation, the priest raised complaints against the bishop to the nunciature in Vienna and subsequently to the Council of the Congregation in Rome.

In the article Masaryk’s multilevel approach to Master Jan Hus is being solved in the context of the controversy about the Czech history importance and a possible benefit for the contemporary historians´ attitude towards Jan Hus – sociological, philosophical, religious and purely historical view of one of the most important personalities in the Czech history with the overlap into the European history. In Tomáš G. Masaryk´s work the main thing is not the complexity and the depth of the historical approach to the particular person or history as such, but the fact that he sees everything from many aspects and becomes the pathfinder of the multi-perspective approach which is becoming very popular nowadays. Most Masaryk’s quotations in this article should prove the author’s conclusions, above all the different insight into the particular term (notion), into the sense of the Czech history or into the specific personality during various periods of the historical development.

The dispute between the town of Loket and the lieges of the Loket region on the one hand and the pledge holders of the region on the other, namely the members of the Schlick family, dragged on in a sharp and violent form between 1471 and 1505 and was ended the following year, when the land diet for the sake of the land’s integrity expressed itself in favour of the Loket side. Having summarised the main events, the treatise focuses on the ‘white period’ of the dispute in the 1480s, when it as a consequence of the significant activity of the anti-Schlick party developed into the wider political and religious connections of Central Europe.
