The Daochos Monument at Delphi has received some scholarly attention from an art-historical and archaeological perspective; this article, however, examines it rather as a reflection of contemporary Thessalian history and discourse, an aspect which has been almost entirely neglected. Through its visual imagery and its inscriptions, the monument adopts and adapts long-standing Thessalian themes of governance and identity, and achieves a delicate balance with Macedonian concerns to forge a symbolic rapprochement between powers and cultures in the Greek north. Its dedicator, Daochos, emerges as far more than just the puppet of Philip II of Macedon. This hostile and largely Demosthenic characterisation, which remains influential even in modern historiography, is far from adequate in allowing for an understanding of the relationship between Thessalian and Macedonian motivations at this time, or of the importance of Delphi as the pan-Hellenic setting of their interaction. Looking closely at the Daochos Monument instead allows for a rare glimpse into the Thessalian perspective in all its complexity.

A review of literature revealed that cross-cultural research had not addressed the topic of ethical decision-making definitions (EDM), environmental factors and EDM models all of which could influence ethical decision-making especially within higher education. The present research study examined ethical decision-making, specifically how it was defined and its process. Then environmental factors were identified by experts as being influential to the process of EDM within higher education in Poland. The research provided focuses mainly on EDM and cultural aspects as related to Poland and higher education. In the conclusion, results were compared to a parallel study that focused on ethical decision-making within higher education in the U.S. This exploratory study used the Delphi research technique to identify an EDM definition that leaders use to make ethical decisions and identify the environmental factors that influence their decisions as well as an EDM model within Poland

Despite the large amount of information, including books, articles and pristine images of geotourism, there exists no comprehensive study on the collection and classification of them in Iran yet. In this research, for the modelling of geosite watersheds, 1000 articles were surveyed through library research and the models with the highest frequency of use were identified and analysed among a statistical sample of 451 local papers using the Meta-Analysis method, and then the most efficient ones were identified using Delphi and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methods. The re- sults of this study showed that while the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT), Pralong, Reynard, AHP and Pereira models are in the first to fifth-ranked models with the highest frequency, however, Pralong, SWOT, Reynard, Perira and Comanescu models were considered as the most efficient ones in geosite modelling in Iran.

Po bitwie pod Pydną jej zwycięski wódz, Lucjusz Emiliusz Paulus, udał się w podróż po Grecji . Świadectwa dotyczące tego wydarzenia znajdujemy u Polibiusza, Liwiusza i Plutarcha . Każdy z tych autorów skupił się na innych aspektach owej podróży . Najobszerniejsza relacja zachowała się w Ab Urbe Condita Liwiusza (45, 27-28) i to głównie ona jest przedmiotem analizy dokonanej przez autorkę artykułu . Szczególną uwagę zwraca ona na te fragmenty, które opisują pobyt Emiliusza w Delfach i Olimpii i jego reakcję na widok znakomitych dzieł greckich artystów . Autorka porównuje ze sobą wspomniane relacje autorów starożytnych, z których wynika, że podróż Emiliusza mogła być postrzegana jako kontynuacja akcji militarnej (Polibiusz), inspekcja zwycięskiego wodza (Plutarch) lub po prostu edukacyjna wyprawa miłośnika greckiej sztuki, a ponadto człowieka pobożnego, który w każdym miejscu swej wędrowki składał stosowne ofiary bogom (Liwiusz) .

Following the Battle of Pydna, the victorious general Lucius Aemilius Paullus embarked on a trip of Greece . Accounts of the event may be found in Polybius, Livy and Plutarch . Each of them focused on different aspects of that journey . The most extensive surviving report is provided in Livy’s Ab Urbe Condita (45, 27-28), which is therefore the basic reference for the analysis conducted by the author in this paper . Her particular focus is on the fragments which describe Aemilius’ visits to Delphi and Olympia, and his reaction to works of Greek masters . The author compares the above ancient accounts, which show that Aemilius’ trip could be perceived as a continuation of a military action (Polybius), an inspection conducted by a victorious general (Plutarch), or simply an educational voyage of an enthusiast of Greek art, but also a pious person who would offer proper sacrifice to gods wherever his journey brought him (Livy) .
