The basic reason for adopting the directive on defence was to introduce regulations that would allow for defence and security procurement in accordance with unified EU procedures, which would take into account their specific nature and, simultaneously, prevent the ordering party from abusing the exception set forth in Article 346 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. The provisions of the Directive were implemented in the Polish law on the 13th of February 2012. The article presents the new legal regulations that are in force now, and the proceedings related to procurement of military equipment for the Polish Armed Forces.
