Zasadniczym celem artykułu było przedstawienie poglądów Mieczysława F. Rakowskiego na wieloaspektowy proces integracji europejskiej w latach 1958–1990. Uwagę skoncentrowano na „problemie niemieckim”, wojnie ideologicznej: kapitalizm – komunizm, rozszerzeniu Wspólnot Europejskich o kolejne kraje w latach siedemdziesiątych i osiemdziesiątych XX wieku.

The main aim of the article was to present the views of Mieczysław F. Rakowski on the multifaceted process of European integration in the years 1958–1990. Attention was focused on the “German problem”, the ideological war: capitalism – communism, the enlargement of the European Communities to new countries in the 1970s and 1980s.

Zasadniczym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie poglądów i opinii redakcji tygodnika “Polityka” na rozszerzenie procesu integracji europejskiej o Grecję, Hiszpanię i Portugalię w latach 1981–1987. Zamierzeniem autora jest przybliżenie reakcji publicystów opiniotwórczego tygodnika w Polsce na przemiany polityczne, ekonomiczne i społeczne zachodzące w krajach południa Europy. W artykule zastosowano metodę historyczną, metodę analizy źródeł i zawartości prasy. Przydatne okazały się również metody: instytucjonalno-prawna, porównawcza, decyzyjna oraz behawioralna.

The main aim of the article is to present the views and opinions of the editors of the Polityka weekly on the extension of the European integration process to Greece, Spain and Portugal in 1981–1987. The author’s intention is to present reactions of journalists writing for the opinion-forming weekly in Poland to the political, economic and social changes taking place in the southern European states. The article uses the historical method and the analysis of sources and press articles. The following methods also proved to be useful: institutional and legal, comparative, decision-making and behavioral.

Zasadniczym celem artykułu było przedstawienie długiego i skomplikowanego procesu nawiązania stosunków pomiędzy RWPG a EWG i wypracowania oczekiwanych stosunków handlowych pomiędzy podmiotami. W artykule zaprezentowano również stanowisko Polski wobec EWG, która będąc członkiem RWPG nie mogła zrezygnować z pryncypiów państw socjalistycznych. Z biegiem czasu w różny sposób dążyła do rozwijania współpracy z EWG, zdając sobie sprawę, że tylko tą drogą może zahamować regres gospodarki polskiej i w dalszej konsekwencji wpłynąć pozytywnie na nastroje w społeczeństwie polskim.

The main aim of this paper is to present the long and complicated process of establishing contacts between Comecon and the EEC and developing their trade relations. The paper also discusses the Polish attitude to the EEC at a time when Poland – as a member of Comecon – could not reject the principles that guided socialist states. As time went by, Poland sought different methods to develop its collaboration with the EEC, as it realized that this was the only way to avert the downturn of Polish economy, thereby exerting a positive impact on the attitude of Polish society in the long run.

The main goal of this article is to present the attitude of authorities of Polish People’s Republic towards the southern extension of the European Community of Greece between 1961 and 1981. In this article, among other things, the classified correspondence between the Polish diplomats who were allocated to posts in Athen’ s and the fourth department of Polish People’s Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been presented. This article has also presented the responses of the Polish press (i.e. “Trybuna Ludu”, “Życie Warszawy”, “Polityka”) to the cooperation of Greece to EWG.

Zasadniczym celem artykułu było zaprezentowanie stanowiska władz Polskiej Rzeczpospolitej Ludowej wobec południowego rozszerzenia Wspólnot Europejskich o Grecję w latach (1961–1981). W artykule przedstawiono m.in., korespondencję pomiędzy polskimi dyplomatami przebywającymi w Atenach a DEP. IV Ministerstwa Spraw Zagranicznych PRL (Europa Zachodnia), w której przybliżono polskie oceny długiego i skomplikowanego procesu adaptacji Grecji do wymogów wspólnotowych. W artykule zaprezentowano także reakcje prasy polskiej (m.in.: „Trybuny Ludu”, „Życia Warszawy”, „Polityki”, „Prawa i Życia”) na kooperację kraju z EWG.

The main goal of this article is to present the attitude of authorities of Polish People’s Republic towards the southern extension of the European Community of Spain and Portugal between 1962 and 1986. In this article, among other things, the classified correspondence between the Polish diplomats who were allocated to posts in Rome, Madrid and Paris, and the fourth department of Polish People’s Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been presented. Those materials showed the Polish estimated assessment of a long and complicated process of adaptability of both Iberian countries to the requirements of the European Community. This article has also presented the responses of the Polish press (i.e. Trybuna Ludu, Życie Warszawy, Polityka) to the cooperation of both countries and EWG.
