This study discusses Bohemian Duchess Elisabeth of Hungary, the wife of Frederick, Duke of Bohemia. The author first considers the depiction of the duchess in individual historical monographies and studies, placing her marginality into the context of the generally accepted concept of the Duchy of Bohemia’s decline during the reign of Duke Frederick. It then focuses on Elisabeth’s acts both in terms of warfare and spirituality. It emphasises not only her significant influence on the duke and his associates, but also her loyalty to her husband whom she firmly stood by during his entire reign, which is reflected in the frequent appearance of her name in ducal documents.
