W Polsce najbardziej zaniedbanym działaniem z zakresu ochrony środowiska jest zagospodarowanie odpadów. Poziom odzysku surowców wtórnych jest bardzo mały. W selektywnej zbiórce odpadów zbiera się zaledwie 2,5% całego strumienia odpadów komunalnych. Postęp w stosunku do roku 2000 wynosi jedynie 0,8%. W dalszym ciągu około 97,5% odpadów komunalnych trafia na składowiska. W artykule przedstawiono istotę zarządzania gospodarka odpadami komunalnymi i rolę organów administracyjnych w ochronie środowiska.

From the scope of the environmental protection a waste disposal is action in Poland the most neglected. The level of the recycling of the recyclable waste is very low. In the selective collection of waste is about the only 2.5% entire stream of council waste. Progress towards the year amounts to 2000 merely 0.8%. Still about 97.5% of council waste is coming stockpiles across. In the article was described nature of the management waste disposal council and role of administrative organs in the environmental protection.
