European Territorial Cooperation (ETC) was introduced as one of the objectives of EU cohesion policy in the 2007-2013 financial perspective. Regulations adopted for the 2014-2020 period means both the continuation of certain previously proven solutions, and the introduction of – a more or less significant – changes resulting from the evaluation experience of previous years. The purpose of this article is to conduct a comparative analysis of regulations of EU law concerning the ETC support from the European Regional Development Fund and the legal instrument European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC).

Europejską współpracę terytorialną (EWT) wprowadzono jako jeden z celów polityki spójności Unii Europejskiej w perspektywie finansowej 2007–2013. Regulacje przyjęte na lata 2014–2020 oznaczają zarówno kontynuację pewnych sprawdzonych wcześniej rozwiązań, jak i wprowadzenie – mniej lub bardziej istotnych – zmian wynikających z oceny doświadczeń lat poprzednich. Celem artykułu jest przeprowadzenie analizy porównawczej regulacji prawa unijnego dotyczących wsparcia EWT z Europejskiego Funduszu Rozwoju Regionalnego oraz instrumentu prawnego, jakim jest europejskie ugrupowanie współpracy terytorialnej (EUWT).
