W roku 2007 na rynku amerykańskich kredytów hipotecznych został zapoczątkowany kryzys finansowy, który w krótkim czasie rozprzestrzenił się na całą gospodarkę światową. Trudności jakie napotkały instytucje finansowe w UE stanowiły przyczynę zainicjowania reform europejskiego nadzoru finansowego, które zakończyły się z dniem 1 stycznia 2011 roku, kiedy to rozpoczęły swą działalność Europejska Rada ds. Ryzyka Systemowego oraz Europejski System Organów Nadzoru Finansowego. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest przybliżenie tych przemian oraz próba ich oceny.

In 2007, at the American mortgage credit market, the financial crisis, that in a short time extended on whole world economy, was started. It were the problems of financial institutions in UE that led to the reforms of European Financial Supervision, which were completed on 1st of January 2011, when the European Systemic Risk Council and the European System of Financial Supervision initiated their activity. The aim of present elaboration is to approach these changes and an attempt to evaluate them.
