The subject of this article is to present the pastoral tasks entrusted to the religious parishes by the Bydgoszcz diocesan bishop. The historical evaluation of the concept, the organization and development of the religious life were concisely presented. It was pointed out that the Evangelical counsels, a gift from God, became a measure of the lives of people who would like to follow the Christ. It has been shown that the form of life of these people has changed over the centuries. The role of the parish was emphasized as a special form of the Church’s presence in the world. The general and theoretical problem concerning entrusting a parish and related tasks to a religious institute was presented. The tasks of the religious pastor were presented and the essential difference between a diocesan pastor and an episcopal pastor was highlighted. Religious parishes and their specific tasks in the Diocese of Bydgoszcz were analyzed in detail. Particular attention was paid to the role of religious orders in pastoral work. All the considerations highlighted the fact that the Bishop of the Bydgoszcz Diocese, Jan Tyrawa, did not legally entrust the parish to any order. In this context, it was emphasized that the present day requires greater cooperation between religious orders and local bishops and the joint implementation of specific tasks.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest przedstawienie duszpasterskich zadań powierzonych parafiom zakonnym przez bydgoskiego biskupa diecezjalnego. Przybliżono historyczną ocenę koncepcji, organizacji i rozwój życia zakonnego. Wskazano, że rady ewangeliczne będące darem od Boga, stały się miarą życia ludzi, którzy chcieli naśladować Chrystusa. Pokazano, że forma życia tych osób zmieniała się na przestrzeni wieków. Podkreślono rolę parafii jako szczególnej formy obecności Kościoła w świecie. Przedstawiono ogólny i teoretyczny problem dotyczący powierzania parafii instytutowi zakonnemu i zadań z tym związanych. Przybliżono zadania proboszcza zakonnego oraz uwidoczniono istotną różnicę pomiędzy proboszczem diecezjalnym a proboszczem biskupim. Analizie poddane zostały parafie zakonne w diecezji bydgoskiej i ich swoiste zadania. Zwrócono uwagę na rolę zakonów w pracy duszpasterskiej. W całości rozważań zaznaczono fakt, że biskup diecezji bydgoskiej Jan Tyrawa nie dokonał prawnego powierzenia parafii żadnemu zakonowi. Współczesność zaś wymaga większej kooperacji zakonów z biskupami miejsca i wspólną realizację określonych zadań.

Pope Gregory the Great, in his only hagiographical work, the Dialogues, left elaborate teaching on virtues. It is practical to the core and bears a clear pedagogical intention. Gregory wanted the Dialogues readers, prevalently monks, to be granted an encouragement to live a virtuous life. The paramount virtue is humility, which stands at the root of any other virtue. The other important virtues described in Dialogues are poverty, chastity and obedience. Furthermore, as a specific mark of Gregory’s spirituality, the virtue of gravity occurs. The countless examples of saints, mentioned in the Dialogues, are an invitation to live in a close relationship with God since every virtue depends on the grace of God. In this respect, Gregory is an heir of Augustine’s teaching on grace, according to which grace precedes every single good deed of man.
