The foreign exchange market is one of the most important segments of the financial market. FX options market is also one of the largest in the world. In the case of the basic model of option pricing - Merton Scholes model variability Blacks used for option pricing is constant and flat over time and does not change in relation to the strike price. The term structure of volatility is creating volatility surfaces for which variability has different levels depending on the date and the exercise price of options. This paper presents the characteristics of the exchange rate and pattern construction plane volatility smile in the currency market. This article demonstrates the validity of the technical analysis in making an investment decision on the Forex market. Moreover, it evaluates the effectiveness of the tools used. The article suggests a not yet widely recognized Forex market to be an alternative to a conventional stock market in the event of economic decline.

Cumulated turnover of derivatives significantly exceeds trading volume on stock exchanges. Thus, in practice, derivatives became basic investment instrument. Importance of secure turnover and guarantee of solvency appreciated. One of the elements making settlements sure is margin. Financial institutions set it on the level that results from their margin policy. This article points problems and aims of adjusting margins for traders - margin as collateral and margin "image" as marketing tool.

The real time series xt is usually disturbed by random noise. His source may be errors of measurement and errors of rounding made during data analysis. The random noise may also represent an exogenous factors affecting the dynamics of the system or be a consequence of the statistical nature of the phenomena, e.g. which are affected by human decisions. Since the presence of noise in the data can significantly affect the quality of the forecasts, the aim of the article will be to evaluate the accuracy of predicting the time series filtered using the method of nearest neighbors. The test will be conducted on the basis of the financial time series, which consist of closing prices of companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and the daily exchange rates.

W artykule autorzy analizują wybrane waluty oraz ich stopy zwrotu opisując przykładowy model kursów walutowych (model CHEER) oraz odnosząc się do praktyki inwestowania w waluty na rynku Forex. Głównym celem artykułu jest prezentacja modeli w kontekście podejmowania racjonalnych decyzji inwestycyjnych, a także odpowiedź na pytanie czy umiejętności związane z modelowaniem sprzyjają uzyskaniu dodatnich lub "mniej ujemnych" stóp zwrotu z inwestycji.

The main purpose of the article is presentation of models in making rational investment decision context and also response the question: is the ability in modeling might give a positive investments results (positive or "less negative" return of investments).

W artykule przedstawiono podział i procentową strukturę wykorzystywanych w praktyce życia gospodarczego w Polsce innowacyjnych instrumentów zarządzania ryzykiem walutowym i dokonano porównania z rynkami zagranicznymi (USA i Niemcy). Podjęto próbę zdefiniowania i klasyfikacji innowacji finansowych na rynku walutowym oraz wskazania na szanse i zagrożenia, jakie niosą ze sobą te instrumenty.

The process of globalization, the opportunity to exchange and increase competitiveness has given rise to problems of business management in a global environment. The article presents the classification and rate structure used in the practice of economic life in Poland and innovative instruments for managing currency risk and compared with foreign markets (U.S. and Germany). An attempt was made to define and classification financial innovation in the currency market and to identify the opportunities and threats posed by these instruments.
