The family ethos is an unique system of knowledge about family and social world. It is created in family system. The aim of the research was to prove that the family ethos could be studied by analysis of family members' narrations. The authors assume that family ethos manifests itself in making similarity in contents and forms of family members' narrations. They analysed narration by semantic analysis of family members' descriptions.
Family ethos is an unique system of meanings, which is created during everyday interactions of family members. Ethos is reflected in language. The research is an attempt at examining family ethos, as the whole, by analysis of narrations of family members. We assume that family ethos manifests itself in contents of narration and in the manner of which family members present narrations. We analysed the text as a whole and the stories contented in it. The advanced hypothesis were confirmed.
