Wilhelm Gibałka i pierwszy PZL P-24 zbudowany w Turcji

In the years 1935–1939, Polish National Aircraft Works PZL’s all-metal fighter P-24 was ranked among the best fighter planes in the world by aviation experts. It was the developed version of the P-11 for export, powered by 900 HP (662 kW) Gnome-Rhône 14 Kfs. In 1936, the Turkish Aircraft Society purchased the license to build them and ordered 40 P-24 fighters. This article presents history of the production of the first P-24 at the Kayseri Aircraft Factory, on the basis of the extensive article published in 1960 by MSc Wilhelm Gibałka – head of the team of instructors delegated to Turkey.

W latach 1935–1939 całkowicie metalowy myśliwiec PZL P-24 był zaliczany przez ekspertów lotniczych do najlepszych samolotów myśliwskich na świecie. Był on rozwiniętą wersją P-11 na eksport, napędzaną silnikiem Gnome-Rhône 14 Kfs o mocy 900 KM (662 kW). W 1936 roku Turecka Liga Lotnicza nabyła licencję na ich budowę i 40 gotowych płatowców P-24 (14 szt. P-24A i 26 szt. P-24C). Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia historię produkcji pierwszego P-24 w Wytwórni Samolotów Kayseri na podstawie obszernego artykułu opublikowanego w 1960 r. przez mgr inż. Wilhelm Gibałka – szefa zespołu instruktorów delegowanych do Turcji.
