The source material is taken from the Central Office of the Press, Publications and Events’ Control documents maintained in the Archives of Modern Records in Warsaw. It contains a few-page long article – a synthetic description of Kazimiera Iłłakowiczówna’s biography and her creative path – published in the July issue of the inner censorship circular from 1955, in which the new rules on how to control the oeuvre which previously was banned from printing are explained. The introduction is a description of how censorship dealt with the works of Iłłakowiczówna. The author refers to other documents from the Archives of Modern Records, the press from the epoch, the collections published in the 40s and 50s and compares them to the source materials, what allows her to come to several conclusions. She confirms the existence of the volume of collected works which was submitted for publication at Wydawnictwo Zachodnie in the summer of 1948. She also discovers that the ban on printing was not imposed on several poems published in the Christian press and on interviews in the press. The author also proves that the suspension on the ban for publication comes in 1954 and is one of the first signs of thaw in the Central Office of the Press, Publications and Events’ Control.

W artykule omawiam segment streszczający recenzji cenzorskiej. Przedmiotem analizy są wybrane materiały archiwalne GUKPPiW z roku 1950. W pierwszej części charakteryzuję segment streszczający ze względu na następujące kryteria: cel, kanał komunikacji oraz kryterium wierności tekstowi. W następnej części wskazuję na stałe elementy organizujące wypowiedź cenzorską, takie jak: odtworzenie ciągu przyczynowo-skutkowego recenzowanego utworu, charakterystykę postaci czy stosowanie formuł inicjalnych. W części ostatniej podnoszę kwestię jednej z podstawowych cech definicyjnych streszczenia, czyli obiektywizmu. Wykazuję, że funkcjonariusze z Mysiej, mając „rację z urzędu”, nierzadko zachowywali jedynie pozory obiektywizmu.

In the paper I describe the summarizing segment of the censorship review. The subject of the analysis are the archival materials of GUKPPiW from the year 1950. In the first part I analyze the summarizing segment according to the following criteria: aim, communication channel and faithfulness to the original. In the next part I point out constants which organize the syntax of censorship review, i.e.: the recapitulation of causal continuity of the reviewed work, character descriptions and initial formulas. In the last part I discuss the problem of one of the main definitional features of the summary, that is objectivity. I point out that the officials from the Mysia street kept only appearances of objectivism and functioned as if they were “right by default”.

Celem niniejszego artykułu było uzyskanie odpowiedzi na pytania: jakie zasady i wytyczne stosował Główny Urząd Kontroli Prasy, Publikacji i Widowisk w stosunku do autora "Zniewolonego umysłu" po przyznaniu poecie Nagrody Nobla, gdy stał się on znany na Zachodzie oraz w jakich okolicznościach – wbrew wytycznym cenzury – nazwisko Czesława Miłosza mogło pojawić się w oficjalnych publikacjach. Jako materiał badawczy przyjęto numery „Tygodnika Powszechnego” wydawane od października (po ogłoszeniu decyzji Akademii Sztokholmskiej) do grudnia 1980 roku, które pokazują, jak Miłosz-emigrant był obecny w opiniotwórczym wówczas katolickim czasopiśmie w świetle zapisów cenzury.

The article discusses censoring Russian threads in polish literature of 80s in XX century. The author based on the archival materials, found in The Archive of Modern Acts in Warsaw. He shows some examples of control: how poems of Jerzy Ficowski, Jan Lechoń, Jan Bolesław Ożóg and Tadeusz Urgacz were censored because of Russian threads. The article also contains information on legal conditions regarding the censorship of literature in Poland in the 1980s.

The article presents issues related to the publishing fate of the entire literary output of Stanisław Grzesiuk. It consists of three autobiographical novels: Pięć lat kacetu [Five years of a camp], Boso, ale w ostrogach [Barefoot, but in spurs] and Na marginesie życia [On the Margins of Life]. The editions that were published during the writer’s lifetime were subjected to various types of interference. The most important factor that influenced the final form of the text was institutional censorship. In addition, the author changed his works under the pressure of the publisher, the family and as part of the implementation of the court settlement. The editors of the new edition of Grzesiuk’s works, which was published in 2018 by the Pruszyński i S-ka publishing house, made an attempt to reconstruct texts from before non-author’s changes. The comparison of these editions with the first editions and manuscripts proves that the publishing house has made many incomprehensible decisions that may have an impact on the incorrect reception of the author’s message.

W artykule prezentowane są zagadnienia związane z wydawniczymi losami całości literackiego dorobku Stanisława Grzesiuka. Składają się nań trzy autobiograficzne powieści: Pięć lat kacetu, Boso, ale w ostrogach oraz Na marginesie życia. Wydania, które ukazały się za życia pisarza były poddawane różnego typu ingerencjom. Najważniejszym czynnikiem, który miał wpływ na ostateczna postać tekstu była instytucjonalna cenzura. Ponadto autor zmieniał swoje utwory pod wpływem nacisków wydawcy, rodziny oraz w ramach realizacji sądowej ugody. Redaktorzy nowej edycji dzieł Grzesiuka, która ukazała się w 2018 roku w wydawnictwie Pruszyński i S-ka, podjęli próbę rekonstrukcji tekstów sprzed pozaautorskich zmian. Zestawienie tych wydań z pierwodrukami i rękopisami dowodzi, iż wydawnictwo podjęło wiele niezrozumiałych decyzji, które mogą mieć wpływ na błędną recepcję autorskiego przekazu.
