Der Text befasst sich mit dem frühen und wenig bekannten Buch von Margarete Susman "Vom Sinn der Liebe" (1912), das für einen poetisch-philosophischen Versuch gehalten werden kann, den Nihilismus des Anfangs des 20. Jahrhunderts zu überwinden. Die Aufgabe des Artikels ist, den schwer zugänglichen Text in seinen Hauptmomenten auszulegen und ihn in einen literaturgeschichtlichen und philosophischen Bezugsrahmen zu setzen, um weiterführende Interpretationen anzuregen und die Wirkungsgeschichte zu fördern.

The essay concerns the early and little known book by Margarete Susman "Vom Sinn der Liebe" [On the Meaning of Love] (1912) which can be considered a poetic-philosophical attempt to overcome the nihilism of the beginning of the 20th century. The purpose is a presentation of the book in its main assumptions in order to facilitate its analysis, interpretation and reception as well as to put it into the context of literary history and philosophy.

Artykuł poświęcony jest wczesnej i mało znanej pracy Margarete Susman "Vom Sinn der Liebe" (1912), którą można uznać za poetycko-filozoficzną próbę przezwyciężenia nihilizmu na początku XX wieku. Zadaniem artykułu jest przedstawienie jej głównych założeń i treści oraz umieszczenie ich w kontekście historycznoliterackim i filozoficznym, co może umożliwić jej dalsze interpretacje, a tym samym polepszenie procesu recepcji utworu.
