Walter Eucken (czołowy przedstawiciel ordoliberalizmu) oraz Ludwig Erhard (ekonomista i główny twórca powojennego modelu niemieckiej Społecznej Gospodarki Rynkowej) swoje projekty społeczno-ekonomiczne rozwijali wokół problemu wolności jednostki w ramach „funkcjonalnego i godnego człowieka ładu gospodarczego”. Celem artykułu jest zbadanie wzajemnych relacji tych kategorii w koncepcjach wolnościowej polityki gospodarczej obu myślicieli. Wnioski z przeprowadzonych rozważań sugerują wysoką komplementarność obu koncepcji pod względem teoretycznym i aplikacyjnym oraz dowodzą znacznego stopnia ich aktualności.

Walter Eucken, the leading representative of ordoliberalism, and Ludwig Erhard, an economist and principal creator of the post-war model of the German Social Market Economy, developed their socio-economic projects around the problem of individual freedom within a “functional and economic order worthy of man”. The purpose of this paper is to examine the mutual relations between these categories in the concepts of freedom-based economic policy of both thinkers. The conclusions of the considerations suggest a high degree of complementarity between the approaches both from a theoretical and practical point of view, as well as their high degree of novelty.
