This paper discusses teaching methods used in the course of a Polish culture programme with students of the Department of Polish Studies of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seul. The cultural and civilizational change observed in the generation of twenty somethings make traditional teaching formats and the traditional approach to the canons of cultural education insufficient to grab the students’ interest. What can motivate the students and help achieve a lot better teaching results are the use of innovative techniques intercultural approach and, most of all, incorporation of electronic media and the Internet into the teaching process. The paper also shows how innovative methods of developing the intercultural competence may trigger an improvement in the students’ language competence.
