Hitherto unknown sources concerning the trial against Stanisław Konarski in the Holy Office, allow to describe more accurately the dispute between nuncio Angelo Maria Durini and the Piarists of the Polish Province. One of such sources is a letter written by Andrzej Stanisław Kostka Młodziejowski, bishop of Poznań, in defense of the Piarists. The article analyzes its contents, confronting it with the archival documentation of the Warsaw Nuntiature. While defending the Polish religious, the bishop of Poznań emphasized their orthodoxy, the special merits of S. Konarski, as well as the falsity of the slander directed at them by one of the insubordinate religious. He drew attention to the fact that Warsaw belongs to his ecclesiastical jurisdiction and that, in the first place, he himself supervises the discipline of clergy. Perhaps this intervention was not of key importance for the defense of the Piarists against the allegations of the nuncio, however the Holy See, following its own procedures, has eventually lifted the allegations against the Piarists.

Nuncjusz Angelo Maria Durini bardzo krytycznie oceniał polskich pijarów. W serii depesz do sekretariatu stanu opisał ich domniemane nadużycia oraz negatywny wpływ, jaki na zakonników oraz młodzież im powierzoną wywierał Stanisław Konarski. Ponieważ w Rzymie zaczęto publicznie powtarzać te opinie, pijarzy podjęli się obrony swego dobrego imienia. Poparli ich w tym niektórzy polscy biskupi. W artykule omówiony został nieznany dotąd list biskupa poznańskiego Andrzeja Stanisława Kostki Młodziejowskiego, który pozwala na ukazanie konfliktu nuncjusza z pijarami z perspektywy jednej z najważniejszych osób w Rzeczypospolitej.

Dwuletni staż w Centrum Studiów Dehoniańskich dał autorowi szansę pracy z zespołem archiwalnym Świętego Oficjum dotyczącej procesu nad mistycznymi pismami, krążącymi w środowisku Instytutu Oblatów Najświętszego Serca z Saint-Quentin, z lat 1882-1884. Dokumenty pokazują nowy wymiar na poły mitycznej już afery zwanej powszechnie w instytucie Consummatum est. Autor próbuje nakreślić miejsca, w których narracje bądź opierają się na micie założycielskim, bądź na próbie dysymulacji niewygodnej prawdy. Wychodząc od analizy zbioru ADF Suessonem 1884, Rer. Var. nr 5, wymienia cztery węzły tej historii, które wydają się bardziej złożone, niżby sugerowała to istniejąca narracja: morfologia samego procesu, sytuacja kanoniczna, która wpływa na praxis Świętego Oficjum, relacje z władzami kościelnymi i charakter ruchu mistycznego, który wytworzył się wokół oblatów. Miejsca te są przedstawione również jako zaproszenia do dalszej pracy badawczej.

A two-year work experience at the Dehonian Studies’Centre has given to the author the chance to work with a set of Archives of the Holy Office concerning the inquisitorial trial, held between 1882 and 1884, over the mystical writings circulating in the circles of the Institute of the Oblates of the Sacred Heart of Saint-Quentin. The documents show new dimensions of the now semi-mythical affair commonly referred to in the institute as Consummatum est. The author attempts to outline where narratives are either based on a founding myth or on an attempt to dissimulate an inconvenient truth. Starting from an analysis of the ADF fond Suessonem 1884, Rer. Var. no. 5° lists four nodes of this story that seem more complex than the existing narrative would suggest: the morphology of the process itself, the canonical situation that affects the praxis of the Holy Office, the relationship with the ecclesiastical authorities and the nature of the mystical movement that developed around the Oblates. These sites are also presented as invitations to further research.

This article presents the Polish pre-Tridentine books for the celebration of the Divine Office originating in Benedictine monasteries and the texts of the responsories’ matutinum contained within them intended for consecutive days of the Sacred Triduum. The mentioned responsive prayers are presented in relation to other European sources of the office, at the same time demonstrating the relationship between the Benedictine liturgical traditions and the customs cul-tivated in different diocesan and monastic centers in Western Europe.

Niniejszy artykuł prezentuje polskie przedtrydenckie księgi do sprawowania liturgii godzin pochodzące z klasztorów benedyktyńskich i zawarte w nich teksty responsoriów matutinum przeznaczone na kolejne dni Triduum Sacrum. Wymienione responsoria przedstawiono na tle innych europejskich źródeł oficjum, wykazując jednocześnie związki polskiej benedyktyńskiej tradycji liturgicznej ze zwyczajami kultywowanymi w różnych ośrodkach diecezjalnych i monastycznych Europy Zachodniej.
