Human resource departments should be perceived as a distinct, organizational "promoter of innovation". This change of perspective requires them to employ a range of activities well beyond the classical definition of the personnel function. The paper presents an analysis of practical solutions in the HR sphere, as employed by Impel Business Solutions, Ltd. In Wroclaw, Poland. The authors' main focus is put on identification of those aspects of HR operation which display strong orientation on the increase of the company's potential to innovate. The research was conducted in January, 2014, using structured interviews with HR department managers of the company under study.
