The paper deals with the public transport performance, the demand for public transport, and with the relationship of the public transport to the individual motoring. Demand for public transport can be defined as secondary and it results from the customers demand for the goods and services. The paper analyses the significant factors that influence value of the passenger demand for the public transport. The passengers have a sensitive reaction to the price, the quantity and quality changes of the public transport services. Therefore, this paper presents different types of the demand elasticity in relation to the influencing factors. The article illustrates the possibilities of future estimation of demand for the public transport, too. The quality public transport services are important for the economy growth and the society development.
