We live in an information era. Information has become a popular commercial product. Processing and disseminating information have become important businesses. Storage, processing and access represent fewer and fewer problems, thanks to the new technologies (cheap tools with great storage capacities that are being handled with more and more common information skills). With the increase in quantity, more problems arise regarding relevancy, How can the existing subject representation and information retrieval tools of the databases answer this challenge? At what level are they able to solve the problem of quality information provision? The study is a survey of 50 different online reference databases, examining the characteristics of their subject representation solutions.

Taiwan's rextile enterprises have evolved from traditional local production mills into global textile industry supply chain, that integrates marketing and production during the past 30 years. In the globalization and the network tendency as well as the WTO effect, the information technology will be the enterprise's main key of success. Information exchange and collaboration management are very important in the supply chain, especially for the partners situated all over the world. In this article, an information management design of data automatic exchange platform for collaboration management is described. Based on this design, a case study is also discussed. The results indicate that it can effectively improve the textile enterprise performance in the global supply chain collaboration management
