Responsible business notion is more and more present in Polish economy, however the results of the research carried out in Polish business still shows a low level of CRS idea knowledge, especially in small and medium companies. Although responsible business notion is generally known, its details, ways of preparing strategy, instruments and what is more its benefits are still narrowly spread. Many business people face the lack of knowledge and information, which on one hand make it easier to spread and deepen wrong stereotypes connected with this notion and on the other hand make business people unwilling to implement CRS in their companies. The subjects of this article are examples of instruments which are responsible for realization of social responsibility strategy.

The article describes the results of research and observation carried out by the authoress among the Ainu people on Hokkaido (Japan). She discusses in detail the construction, notation and functions of the tonkori - the wooden musical instrument, and presents a brief account of the Ainu's history, from prehistoric to present times, with particular reference to the influences which have shaped Ainu culture. The first chapter offers a detailed discussion of the structure of the tonkori. A discussion of performance practice is undertaken in the second chapter, which gives an extensive exposition of the manner of playing the tonkori, i.e. postures adopted during play, the technique of sound production, characteristics of the melodies, kinds of notation and the construction of the compositions. In the third and final chapter the authoress discusses the functions of the tonkori in everyday life and in the rituals of the contemporary Ainu. The text closes with an annexe of illustrations showing the tonkori in museum collections and in performance.

This article presents an application of software instruments for detection and quantification of the incidence of eleven chords of classical harmony in three groups of songs. The first two groups consist of selections from piano adaptations of Slovak folk songs by Miloslav Francisci entitled Trávnice I (Haymaking Songs I: a selection of 78 compositions from 100) and Trávnice II (Haymaking Songs II: a selection of 13 compositions from 100). The third is a group of 38 original songs by Ján Levoslav Bella, which we acquired already in digital form in MIDI format. The software instruments are described in the article, and in the tables of results of computer analysis of the three groups we present findings on the percentage incidence of the individual chords in each song individually. This result may be regarded as new information about the harmonic preferences of the composers, in terms of the selection of chords for harmonisation and musical creation. Between Francisci and Bella there is an obvious difference in preference: Bella worked with a greater variety of types of chords, and in this regard his compositional style is more complex and expressively more multiform.

The aim of this paper is to present the techniques (products) of business financing that can be used by Islamic banks according to the rules of Koranic law. The principles of Islamic banks are prescribed in the Holy Quran which is a signpost for all the believers of Islam. The most important feature of Islamic banking is the lack of interest – riba. Under the Islamic law, investors have no right to any additional sums from the capital advanced, unless they participate in the sharing of risk. The principles of Islamic financial system are clearly defined in the Islamic law. Islamic banks have constructed many financial products based on the guidelines of Islamic banking. Banking products are constantly being improved so that they can meet the re-quirements of the Islamic doctrine and enable investors to obtain adequate income.

Scientific realism is a positive epistemic attitude towards the content of our best theories/models recommending belief in both observable and unobservable aspects of the world described by the sciences. This attitude has important metaphysical dimension. It is committed to the mind-independent existence of the world investigated by the sciences (Chakravartty 2013). In his papers Mathematics and Experience (2009) and Mathematics and Reality (2011) Ladislav Kvasz holds a position of instrumental realism. Kvasz claims that reality is instrumentally constituted and realism issue should be understood as a relation between two languages instead of world-language relation. Kvasz’s instrumental realism also suggests building up ontology of distinctions instead of ontology of fillings. The paper deals with Kvasz’s version of instrumental realism critically and it aims to show that Kvasz’s position is much closer to antirealism than to scientific realism because it does not meet the metaphysical dimension.
