In the age of the information society, the crucial factor, that determines success or defeat, is knowledge. That is why, it is so vital for companies to train their employees. The main topic of the paper is the analysis of determinants of using e-learning as the tool that aid employee trainings.

The basis for the functioning of a modern society is knowledge and information. A significant role in creating the concept of an information society is played by government and local government level public administration. The aim of this article is to identify the role of public administration staff in building just such an information society.
