Artykuł przybliża czytelnikowi zagadnienie dotyczące kształtowania przestrzeni społecznej mieszkańców miasta Czerwionka-Leszczyny, w związku z prowadzoną rewitalizacją. Część teoretyczna dokonuje charakterystyki Gminy i Miasta Czerwionka- -Leszczyny, zapoznaje m.in. z historią, strukturą społeczną mieszkańców jednej z jego dzielnic – osiedla „Familoki” oraz prezentuje projekt rewitalizacji patronackiego osiedla robotniczego jako skutecznego instrumentu przekształcania przestrzeni publicznej. Część praktyczna prezentuje opis zachowań społecznych mieszkańców osiedla „Familoki”. Badania uwzględniają oczekiwania mieszkańców w różnych przedziałach wiekowych (inne są potrzeby młodzieży, osób w wieku średnim, a inne – ludzi starszych). Wnioski sformułowane zostały na podstawie badania metodą sondażu diagnostycznego, z wykorzystaniem techniki ankiety.

The article introduces reader to the question of the formation of social space for the inhabitants of the town of Czerwionka-Leszczyny in connection with the revitalization which is being carried out. The theoretical part describes the Commune and Town of Czerwionka-Leszczyny, including its history and the social structure of the residents in one of its districts – a residential estate called “Familoki”, and presents the project of renovation of given estate. The practical part presents the description of the social behavior among the residents of “Familoki” residential estate. The conclusions are based on a diagnostic survey conducted with the use of a questionnaire.
