Punktem wyjścia do rozważań na temat przyszłości biznesu zawartych w artykule jest opublikowany w 2018 r. raport z badania przeprowadzonego przez MIT wśród kierownictwa firm reprezentujących różne sektory gospodarki [Segars, 2018]. Wskazuje on na siedem podstawowych technologii, które zmienią świat. Są to: przetwarzanie globalne, sieci bezprzewodowe, biotechnologia, druk 3D, sztuczna inteligencja, nanotechnologia i robotyka. Każda z ww. technologii wykazuje trzy charakterystyczne właściwości, które odróżniają je od technologii będących motorem poprzednich rewolucji. Są to sztuczna inteligencja, „naturalny interfejs” oraz globalne przetwarzanie, co daje podstawę do stwierdzenia, iż wzorcem przyszłego biznesu ma być inteligentna cyfrowa sieć. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest wskazanie wybranych obszarów w obrębie łańcucha dostaw, w których – zdaniem autora – zastosowanie sztucznej inteligencji będzie miało szczególne znaczenie.

The starting point for the considerations on the future of business contained in the article is the report from the survey conducted by MIT among the management of companies representing various economic sectors. Report points to seven basic technologies that will change the world. These are: sequential processing, wireless networks, biotechnology, 3D printing, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology and robotics. Each of these technologies has three characteristic properties that distinguish them from technologies that are the engine of previous revolutions. They are intelligence (artificial intelligence), “natural interface” and universality and ubiquity. This indicates an intelligent digital network as a model for future business. The aim of this study is to identify selected areas within the supply chain, in which – according to the author – the use of artificial intelligence will be of particular importance.
