The structure of the state security services, operating within the organization of the Interior Ministry, was radically reorganized after the 1956 revolution, similarly to that of the ministry. The Ministry tried to strengthen the quasi newly created state security organization, the State Security Main Division III with the help of internal affairs and state security propaganda methods.
