The paper discusses the importance of the main determinants of the internationalization of the yuan. The main stress was put on Chinese economy and its share in world trade, the development of China's financial markets as well as China's international investment position. The paper is based on the international literature and statistical data. Main sources of necessary data were taken from publications delivered by European Central Bank, Bank for International Settlements, International Monetary Fund and National Bureau of Statistic of China.

W ostatnich latach systematycznie wzrastały aktywa i pasywa zagraniczne polskich podmiotów. Świadczy to o rosnącej integracji polskiego rynku finansowego z rynkiem międzynarodowym. Podobne zjawiska występowały także w innych krajach tej części Europy. Międzynarodowa pozycja inwestycyjna jest zestawieniem zagranicznych aktywów i pasywów podmiotów krajowych. W przypadku Polski, tak jak i pozostałych krajów Grupy Wyszehradzkiej, była ona dotychczas zawsze ujemna, co oznacza, że Polska pozostawała dłużnikiem netto. Podstawowym celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie ilościowych zmian w międzynarodowej pozycji inwestycyjnej Polski w latach 2010-2017 ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ich przyczyn na tle pozostałych krajów Grupy Wyszehradzkiej. Jako metodę badawczą zastosowano komparatywną analizę opisową, którą przeprowadzono przy wykorzystaniu danych statystycznych oraz literatury przedmiotu.

In the past decades, international capital flows played greater and greater role. First, they mostly assumed the form of credits. Then, the foreign investments came to the fore and started playing the more important role. In the recent years, the foreign assets and liabilities and national economic subjects systematically increased. It gives testimony to the integration of Polish financial market with multinational market. Similar phenomena occurred also in other countries of the region. The main purpose of the essay is to present the quantity changes in international investment position of Poland with the special emphasis laid on its causes.
