Personalistyczne ujęcie cnoty vindicatio jako sprawności służącej międzyosobowemu pojednaniu

The virtue of vindicatio was known even to ancient philosophers. It was also described by Thomas Aquinas according to whom vindicatio had an important role in inflicting punishment so that it would serve the conversion of wrongdoer and the restoration of justice, the requirements of which are not cancelled by the Christian duty to forgive. The article describes its additional aspect which can be defined as personalistic, which is excellently depicted in the Biblical story of Joseph of Egypt. It consists in the acts of this virtue contributing to building full interpersonal reconciliation. More focus on this aspect may bring about a better understanding of the reconciliation process and its practical requirements.

Cnota "vindicatio" była znana już w starozytności. Znaleziono także opis dokonany przez św. Tomasza według którego vindicatio miał ważną rolę w wymierzenia kary, tak by mogła ona służyć nawróceniu grzesznika i przywróceniu sprawiedliwości. W artykule opisano jego dodatkowy aspekt tej cnoty, który może być zdefiniowany jako personalistyczny - jest bardzo dobrze zobrazowany w biblijnej historii Józefa z Egiptu. Składa się z pewnych aktów, przyczyniając się ostatecznie do budowania pełnego pojednania międzyludzkiej. Położenie większego nacisku na ten aspekt może doprowadzić do lepszego zrozumienia procesu pojednania i jej praktycznych wymagań.
