Józefa Joteyko was the outstanding scientist in the end of the 19th and in the beginning of the 20th century. Together with Maria Skłodowska-Curie she was the most famous woman and scientist of Polish origin in Europe. She was given the right to present her lectures in the Collége de France and she was, after Adam Mickiewicz, the second Polish lecturer at this great academy. She had committed her life to scientific disciplines which included child neurology, neurophysiology, psychology and pedagogy. She had managed to develop each of them evenly with the same progress and in relation to children. Such approach was aimed at understanding the child and gathering the knowledge about its character and predisposition. These was also meant to help in determining what kind of educational and professional way the child should take. The present-day psychological and pedagogic clinics are the practical fulfilment of Józefa Joteyko’s idea and we cannot imagine the contemporary education without the support of such institutions.

Maria Grzegorzewska (1888–1967) was an outstanding pedeutologist and the founder of the training system for special education teachers in Poland. She often referred in her reflections to other native specialists in these fields: Jan Władysław Dawid, Stefan Szuman, Józefa Joteyko, and Janusz Korczak. She created her own concept of model figure for an ethical class teacher, whose responsibility it is to combine teaching functions with educational impact. Grzegorzewska's aspiration was to train educational workers, being in direct contact with the children with special needs. She believed that such teachers fulfil everyone's right to education, knowledge, culture and social life. This issue seems important, especially at the time of debate over the role, tasks and independence of teachers in Polish education nowadays and the issue of helping – not only financially – people with disabilities.

Мария Гжегожевская (1888–1967) – выдающийся педевтолог, создатель системы образования специальных педагогов в Польше. В своих рассуждениях она опира- лась на взгляды отечественных специалистов в этих областях: Яна Владислава Давида, Стефана Шумана, Юзефы Йотейко и Януша Корчака, создавая при этом собственную концепцию этической модели педагога-воспитателя, обязанностью которого является совмещение педагогических функций с воспитательным влиянием. Целью Гжегожевской было обучение педагогических работников, которые имеют непосредственный контакт с детьми с особыми потребностями. Она считала, что такие учителя реализуют право каждого человека на образование, знания, культуру и общественную жизнь. Этот вопрос кажется важным, особенно во время дебатов о роли, задачах и независимости учителей в современном польском образовании, а также о проблеме помощи – не только финансовой – людям с ограниченными возможностями.

Maria Grzegorzewska (1888–1967) była wybitnym pedeutologiem i twórcą systemu kształcenia pedagogów specjalnych w Polsce. W swoich rozważaniach nawiązywała do poglądów rodzimych specjalistów w tych dziedzinach Jana Władysława Dawida, Stefana Szumana, Józefy Joteyko i Janusza Korczaka, tworząc przy tym własną koncepcję wzoru etycznego nauczyciela wychowawcy, którego obowiązkiem jest łączenie funkcji dydaktycznych z oddziaływaniem wychowawczym. Dążeniem Grzegorzewskiej było kształcenie pracowników pedagogicznych, mających bezpośredni kontakt z dzieckiem specjalnej troski. Uważała, że tacy nauczyciele realizują prawo każdego człowieka do nauki, wiedzy, kultury i życia społecznego. Kwestia ta wydaje się ważna, zwłaszcza w dobie debaty nad rolą, zadaniami i samodzielnością nauczycieli we współczesnym polskim szkolnictwie oraz kwestią pomocy – nie tylko finansowej – osobom z niepełnosprawnościami.
