Celem artykułu jest pokazanie podejmowanych przez Jana Kazimierza Wazę prób zrównania kompetencji hetmanów litewskich, a tym samym ograniczenia władzy hetmana wielkiego. Król, oprócz podejmowania inicjatyw o charakterze prawnym, starał się osiągnąć zakładany cel przez nominację na funkcję hetmana polnego ściśle związanego z dworem Wincentego Korwina Gosiewskiego. Zwrócono również uwagę na negatywny skutek działań Jana Kazimierza Wazy na zdolności bojowe i operacyjne armii litewskiej. The aim of the article is to present the attempts undertaken by King John Casimir to make equal the powers of Lithuanian hetmans and thus to limit the authority of the Lithuanian grand hetman. To this end, the king, alongside with his legal attempts, appointed to the office of Lithuanian field hetman Wincenty Korwin Gosiewski, closely associated with the royal court. Attention also is paid to negative consequences of King John Casimir’s actions for the combat and operational capacity of the Lithuanian army.

This article was based on a chapter from Master’s thesis entitled His Majesty’s Leibregiment under the command of General Ernest Jan Korff in years 1658-1663.The work constitutes development of two chapters of the book by Mirosław Nag¬ielski titled The size and organization of the guard and comput guard at the times of last Vasa (1648-1668), Warsaw 1989, which included the description of the battle route as regards the units under the command of Ernest Jan Korff. In his work the author developed a description of the war activities of Ernest Jan Korff’s Leibregi¬ment in the period of 1658-1663. The author places significant emphasis on clarify¬ing certain issues which have only been mentioned in the book. He tries to discover what really happened to Leibregiment and its leader during these 6 years of activity using scanty sources from that epoch. What is more, he establishes the actual size of Leibregiment as until now all pieces of information were based on the treasury documents, ignoring descriptive registers.

Статья основана на главе магистерской диссертации «Лейб-полк Его Королевского Величества под командованием генерала Эрнеста Яна Корффа 1658–1663 гг.». Работа развивает две главы книги Мирослава Нагельского «Численность и организация лейб-гвардии и регулярной гвардии во времена последнего Вазы (1648–1668)», Варшава, 1989 г., в которой описан боевой путь отрядов во главе с Эрнестом Яном Корффом. Автор в своей работе рас¬сказывает о боевых действиях лейб-полка Эрнеста Яна Корффа в 1658–1663 гг. Кроме того, он акцентирует внимание на моментах, которые лишь упомина¬ются в книге. Он попытался, несмотря на достаточно скудные источники того времени, узнать, что на самом деле происходило с лейб-полком и его предво¬дителем в течение 6 лет деятельности. Кроме того, он установил фактическую численность лейб-полка, т.к. до сих пор все повторяли информацию вслед за казначейскими документами, игнорируя рекрутские списки.
