Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie stanowiska Konferencji Episkopatu Polski wobec wybranych kwestii wychowania młodego pokolenia w latach 1989-2013. Z inicjatywy Komisji Wychowania Katolickiego Konferencji Episkopatu Polski i Rady Szkół Katolickich od 2011 roku corocznie obchodzony jest we wrześniu Tydzień Wycho-wania. Z tej okazji biskupi wystosowują do wiernych list pasterski. Konferencja Episkopatu Polski zachęcała do refleksji nad tym, jak dotrzeć do młodych ludzi, aby wzrastali na podstawie określonego systemu wartości. Przypominała, że proces wychowania ma miejsce w rodzinie. Podkreślała konieczność wychowania do wartości, szczególnie w dzisiejszych czasach, które cechują się ich zanikiem i upadkiem autorytetów. Ostrzegała, że brak wychowania do podstawowych wartości może prowadzić do utraty sensu życia i relatywizmu moralnego.

The purpose of this article is to present the position of the Polish Episcopate Confe-rence on selected issues of upbringing of the young generation in the years 1989-2013. As the result of the initiative of the Committee on Education of the Catholic Conference of Polish Bishops and the Council of Catholic Schools, since 2011 a Week of Education has been celebrated annually in September. The bishops send the pastoral letter to the faithful on this occasion. The Polish Episcopal Conference encouraged reflection on how to reach young people to grow on the basis of a specific system of values. It reminds people that the process of education takes place in the family. It emphasizes the need for education to values, especially in these times, which are characterized by their disappearance and collapse of authority. It warns that the lack of education on basic values could lead to a loss of meaning in life and moral relativism.
