The chaos theory makes an important contribution to the modeling of economic processes, because the wealth of behaviors of the systems it describes gives the potential possibility of eliminating the inconsistencies between theory and practice. Additionally, chaotic systems are deterministic, i.e. they emphasize the interaction of endogenous factors and refer to the work of the first researchers of economic cycles. Despite many debatable aspects related to the use of deterministic chaos theory algorithms in the process of analyzing joint stock companies on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, their use is fully justified. The aim of the publication is to present the possibility of using measures resulting from the theory of deterministic chaos to assess the attractiveness of investing in specific shares in terms of the economic condition of a given company on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Teoria chaosu wnosi istotny wkład w modelowanie procesów gospodarczych, gdyż bogactwo zachowań opisywanych przez nią systemów daje potencjalną możliwość wyeliminowania niezgodności pomiędzy teorią a praktyką. Dodatkowo chaotyczne systemy są deterministyczne, tzn. kładą nacisk na wzajemne oddziaływanie czynników endogenicznych, i nawiązują do prac pierwszych badaczy cykli gospodarczych. Mimo wielu dyskusyjnych aspektów związanych z wykorzystaniem algorytmów teorii chaosu deterministycznego w procesie analizy spółek akcyjnych na Giełdzie Papierów Wartościowych (GPW) w Warszawie, zdaniem autorów artykułu ich stosowanie jest w pełni uzasadnione. Celem artykułu jest pokazanie możliwości wykorzystania mierników wynikających z teorii chaosu deterministycznego do badania i oceny atrakcyjności inwestowania w konkretne akcje spółek sektora budowlanego w aspekcie kondycji ekonomicznej danej spółki na GPW w Warszawie.
