The main aim of the article is to present the results of own research in the field of the impact of industry-level effects on the financial performance of companies. The sample consisted of 389 Polish public companies, the data were collected for the period 2007-2011, the empirical analysis was conducted using the multiple regression analysis. The results of international research show the divergent outcomes – from the importance of industry effects on companies performance to almost no effects. The results of my research show the insignificant influence of industry effects on companies performance with the significant influence of company-level effects.

The article is devoted to the analysis of interaction between independent variables. The first part of the paper presents analysis of interaction between two categorical variables by means of analysis o variance (ANOVA) and multiple regression (MR), the second part presents analysis of interaction between a cat¬egorical and a continuous variable by MR method, the third part presents analysis of interaction between two continuous variables by MR method and analysis of centered variables. Each part is illustrated by the analysis of exemplary data sets with the use of the statistical package SPSS. For simplicity, all analyses were limited to the design with two independent variables.

The purpose of this research is to examine the relationships between achievement goal orientations and math attitudes. Participants were 569 university students. 2X2 Achievement Goal Orientations Scale and Mathematics Attitudes Scale were used as measures. The relationships between achievement goal orientations and math attitudes were examined using correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. According to the results negative attitudes were predicted positively by learning-avoidance and performance-approach/avoidance goal orientations. Furthermore, positive attitudes were predicted positively by learning-approach/avoidance goal orientations and negatively by performance-approach/avoidance goal orientations. The results were discussed in the light of literature.
