During the ninety-year history of Polish and German Silesian historical bibliography, the internal structure of content has changed, including the ways of grouping problems and the degree of complexity of taxonomic divisions. The number of detailed issues increased, thanks to which the bibliography scheme increasingly fulfilled functions currently assigned to the property index. The latter appeared in the “Bibliography of the history of Silesia” only in the 90s of the twentieth century, contributing to the re-evaluation of a role and use of the traditional table of contents by the reader. The bibliography scheme is also a reflection of historical phenomena and processes taking place over the last century attracting the interest of researchers of Silesian history.

W ciągu dziewięćdziesięcioletnich już dziejów polskiej i niemieckiej śląskiej bibliografii historycznej zmianie ulegała wewnętrzna struktura treści obejmująca sposoby grupowania problemów i stopień złożoności podziałów taksonomicznych. Rosła liczba szczegółowych zagadnień, dzięki czemu schemat bibliografii w coraz większym stopniu wypełniał funkcje obecnie przypisane indeksowi rzeczowemu. Ten ostatni pojawił się w „Bibliografii historii Śląska” dopiero w latach 90. XX w., wpływając na przewartościowanie roli i sposobu wykorzystania przez czytelnika tradycyjnego spisu treści. Schemat bibliografii stanowi też odbicie zjawisk i procesów historycznych zachodzących w ciągu ostatniego wieku i będących przedmiotem zainteresowania badaczy dziejów Śląska.
