Katalog druków polskich XVI wieku przechowywanych w Słowackiej Bibliotece Narodowej w Martinie (Slovenská národná knižnica – w skrócie SNK) zawiera opisy ok. sześćdziesięciu starodruków, szeroko rozumianych jako polonikowe, w ujęciu, do jakiego przyzwyczaił nas Karol Estreicher starszy. Wszystkie opisy druków zostały sporządzone z autopsji w czasie dwóch kwerend, wykonanych w ramach wymiany międzybibliotecznej pomiędzy Biblioteką Jagiellońską a SNK, w oparciu o dostępne katalogi kartkowe, katalogi drukowane i elektroniczne. Druki opisano w najszerszy możliwy sposób, z uwzględnieniem proweniencji oraz opraw, w kilkunastu przypadkach na nowo bądź w nieco inny sposób odczytano znalezione proweniencje.

The catalogue of Polish sixteenth-century prints kept in the Slovak National Library in Martin (Slovenská Národná Knižnica, SNK) contains the descriptions of about sixty early printed books, which, according to the criteria established by Karol Estreicher, are Polonica in the broad sense. All of these descriptions were completed on the spot, with the aid of available card, printed and digital catalogues, during two journeys which were part of an interlibrary exchange of staff members between the Jagiellonian Library and SNK. The descriptions of the prints are as detailed and complete as possible; they also include provenances and bindings. A dozen or so provenances have been either read anew or in a slightly different manner.

This article focuses on relations between real religious events and the content of media coverage of those events. The article presents the aims and topics of religious meetings of Catholic families, organized by the Pontifical Council for the Family, which took place under the name of the World Meetings of Families. The main issue concerning media coverage is presented on the example of the account of the 9th World Meeting of Families, which took place in Dublin in 2018. It was guided by the theme Joy for the World. Among the issues discussed during the meeting was the issue of the functioning of Catholic families in the contemporary world including axiological, economic and health themes. The media’s image of the meeting in Dublin was quite different from the real discussions and was marginalized to two topics: speeches delivered by Roco Buttiglione and Jamesa Martina SJ, and the interpretation of symbolism of chasubles used during liturgy.

Światowe Spotkania Rodzin to spotkania katolickich rodzin z całego świata z papieżem, organizowane przez Papieską Radę ds. Rodziny. Inicjatorem tych spotkań był papież Jan Paweł II. Odbywają się co trzy lata, a każde jest poprzedzone międzynarodowym sympozjum teologiczno-duszpasterskim. Głównym celem zwoływania przez papieża Światowych Spotkań Rodzin jest prowadzenie dialogu, ukazywanie roli rodziny w ewangelizacji i umocnienie tożsamości rodziny. Światowe Spotkania Rodzin są uznawane za jedną z najważniejszych inicjatyw duszpasterskich Jana Pawła II.

This essay examines the phenomenon of cross-cultural Shakespearean “traffic” as an import/export “business” by analyzing the usefulness of the concept crosscultural through a series of theoretical binaries: Global vs. Local Shakespeares, Glocal and Intercultural Shakespeare; and the very definition of space and place within the Shakespearean lexicon. The essay argues that theoretically, the opposition of global and local Shakespeares has a tendency to collapse, and both glocal and intercultural Shakespeares are the object of serious critique. However, the project of cross-cultural Shakespeare is sustained by the dialectic between memorialization and forgetting that attends all attempts to record these cross-cultural experiences. The meaning of crosscultural Shakespeare lies in the interpreter’s agency.
